What will be doing:

As a Community Safety Officer (CCTV), this position is temporary for a period of 12 months.
You will be in charge of helping to coordinate the Borough's CCTV response. This will consist of:
  • Coordination and execution of the Council's yearly CCTV work program and CCTV strategy.
  • Support CCTV workstreams with project and program management, as well as management of the deployable CCTV assets, network upgrades, and investment.
  • Project supervise the administration and execution of CCTV projects funded by NCIL while offering council members, officers, and applicants advice and direction.
  • By offering counsel, direction, and secretariat, assist the resident-led CCTV Advisory Group is operating effectively.
  • Create and oversee third-party CCTV contracts and partnering arrangements to provide the Council with financial and/or commercial benefits.
This is an office-based position with a weekly day of remote work. You will be a part of our amiable, knowledgeable, and open team. In order to stay in touch with any important concerns, we arrange weekly 1-on-1 meetings in addition to our monthly team meetings.

Who we are searching for:

  • We are searching for someone who is knowledgeable about the impact that crime and antisocial behavior have on communities, as well as the proper laws and authorities that can be used to address these concerns. Although training will be provided on local regulations and procedures, knowledge and awareness of the policy, practice, and legislation relating to, and the administration of public realm CCTV would be advantageous.
  • You will be creating and sustaining strong partnerships while collaborating with statutory and non-statutory partners to accomplish common goals, thus you should have outstanding communication skills. Working directly with victims, witnesses, and/or the community as well as organizing and implementing multi-agency and victim-led issue solving are important assets in this position.
  • You will be well-versed in GDPR and have prior administrative, data-inputting, or electronic record-keeping expertise. Excellent keyboarding abilities, working knowledge of database and computer software, and strong literacy and numeracy are also requirements for the position. Additionally, be able to prioritize and organize your task to work flexibly when necessary owing to deadlines and priorities.
